Can I get a vendor license at this website?
No. A vendor license may be obtained at the county courthouse in which you reside. To incorporate your business, you will need to contact the Secretary of State Corporations Division at http://www.sos.state.ga.us/corporations.

How do I certify my company?
To certify your company as a Minority Business Enterprise and/or as a Minority Subcontractor with the State of Georgia’s Department of Administrative Services (DOAS), simply refer to the Certification Process information located behind the link called Vendor Services>Vendor Relations>Certification Process. Download and submit your application to the Georgia Department of Transportation.
What is considered a minority race by the state of Georgia?

How does the state define Minority for businesses that apply for certification as a "Minority Business Enterprise"?
The state of Georgia only certifies businesses that are owned by members of the following groups:

How does the state define Minority/Minority Business Enterprise?
"Minority" means an individual who is a member of a race which comprises less than 50 percent of the total population of the state.
"Minority Business Enterprise" means a small business concern which is owned and controlled by one or more minorities and is authorized to and is doing business under the laws of this state, paying all taxes duly assessed, and domiciled within this state.
"Owned and Controlled" means a business:
- Which is at least 51 percent owned by one or more minorities or, in the case of a publicly owned business, at least 51 percent of all classes or types of the stock is owned by one or more minorities; and
- Whose management and daily business operations are controlled by one or more minorities.
What is the Tax Incentive Program and how does it work?
Georgia Law gives an incentive to companies to hire certified minority subcontractors by giving them a tax break - 10% of payments up to $100,000 to minority subcontractors. The Georgia Department of Revenue manages this program. Please contact them at 404-417-2441 for additional information.

The FEIN number is the "Federal Employer Identification Number", also known as the "Federal Tax Identification number".
